#55840, "420A built engines and stock great prices"

i have a bunch of 420a engines all remanufactured buy Import Engine Specialties they are all .020 over with new pistons and ring clevite bearings, blocks have been shotblasted, tapped, decked, boredand honed. cylinder heads have been cleaned, decked, tapped, new guides, valves, locks, retainers, valve job.come with new water pump, idlers, oil pump, and gasket kits. i also have a few with je pistons and rings, eagle h-beam rods, melling oil pumps, arp bolts, copper headgasket, cylinder heads have been mildly ported, and camshafts and gears are available. you can have any combination of parts to meet your needs. ALL engines have been sim tested to be sure nothing is wrong. a sim tester is a machine that you bolt the engine to and the machine turns the engine over at a low 500 rpm (average) to check for problems. it also lets the pick up tube suck up hot oil to check oil pressure and so on. price on a stock long block is $2400. built engines are around $3500-$4200 depending on what you want(with core charge). group buys will get you even better deals. i worked at the place that built them for almost 10 years tho i don't anymore i do still deal with them alot. they have specailized in import engines for over 20 years and have done alot with 4g63's but are now seeing the 420A as a good base for making big horsepower.so trust they have been built buy pro's. as soon as there web site is fixed i with post that too.

Werd, that's waaay too high..I'd never pay over 3k for a built engine. And what's $2400 for a stock rebuilt engine, I bought my used one for $600. For that price it should include an install.

hmm have you guys ever called a GOOD machine shop and asked them how much they charge to assemble an engine. Parts alone are well over $1200 not including machining, balancing, decking and so on. Your looking to spend around 2-2.5k for an awesome engine. I can't speak for the work of this guy but really you guys are kinda unrealistic on prices for engine building! My engine is near bulletproof and it cost a little more than that for everything and the install.

my car will sound like, bumbabumbubavrooooooooooooooomrooooooooahhhhhhhhhhhhh, kishhhhhh

yes of corse that includes a fully built, balanced, and blue printed bottom end. a cylinder head that is ported with some goodies. i don't want to get into to much detail because we will build to suit your needs so price will vary. $4200 is a round about figure. could be less depending on what your looking for. i have pictures if anyone is interested please email me, if not than shut up! how can you compare a $600 USED stock engine to a professionally built engine? michaellindsay@att.net thank you

thank you, i wasn't going to even bother to reply to these cheap ass people. if they want to put a set of pistons and rods in their engine and call it BUILT then screw them i just with they wouldn't distract others from buying a REAL engine.

we need more companies that act like the people at group5motorsports. those guys accidentally sent me head studs for a b16 when i ordered my missing link and when i told them, they quickly apologized and told me to send it back so that they could send my missing link and they would pay for my shipping costs. they are very professional about everything they do and never badmouth the customer.

Here's a serious question or two:

1) Can you provide an itemized list of exact parts, and exact labor charges included in the $4000 built engine?

2) Is there a warranty on this "real" built engine?

3) What is the business street address, phone number, contact name, and resellers license number of the company selling this product?

Considering you're trying to sell a product for more than I paid for two entire 2G eclipses... you shouldn't be suprised that people are shocked at your prices.

FWIW, my machinist may not be as good as yours, but they managed to provide me all the above information, 5 perfectly running engines so far... all for less than $200 labor per engine. Parts for each engine were all under $2000.

i'm not going to list the parts, but i will give you Import Engine Specialties phone# you can talk to the owner. his name is Mark he will go through all the details with you from parts and labor charges down his resellers licence number if you really want. their is a warranty on a stock engines but as far as perfomance built engines you will have to discuss that with him i know i will not warranty anything that has plans for high boost with no idea who's tuning it. think about it. anyway here is the # 518-638-5570. $200 for labor is a good price but what did they give you for that? i just got 2 2gnt's for $900 so that dosen't say much too me.

I agree with theDawg and the others. The prices that you posted is a bit on the high side. List the items and labor of this built block, then you can list the price.

We do not doubt the quality of the work, we only want evidence.

Oh by the way, VT built block was about 1000 less than your listed price. VT has gained a very good reputation, by providing proof.

Not saying it is a rip off, but You get the idea...

Ok, here is my 2 cents.

Noone will follow up on this unless they are just curious.
Noone on this board is going to buy a 4000 dollar block when they can get a perfect, proven, built performance block from VT or FTY.

I am too damn lazy to call YOU up for something YOU'RE trying to advertise. Want to buy my $20,000 eclipse? Its really nice I promise. Even though you can get the same car for 900. emoji

Clarify, put effort into your posts or don't even bother defending yourself.

Having Problems? Heres my Three step solution to anything 2gnt related.
Step 1: Put down everything in your hands.
Step 2: Grab a lucky strike, Smoke it.
Step 3: Walk to the fridge, double fist some keystone ice, sit down in the shade, drink one beer, finish cigarette, drink other beer, roll a joint, smoke it, walk back to your problem, and in about 5 minutes the solution will come to you.
If not. Go here: here

If still nothing, your trying to hard. Start over at step 1.
