#34151, "FS: Solid Front Motor Mounts"

Custom made solid front motor mounts are a direct fit, direct bolt on mount to fully replace the stock front mount. Made out of 1/8" thick steel, MIG welded 1/8" thick tube for cross bolt, and welded on nuts for the bottom 2 bolts. Comes with 2 new bolts for the crossmember connection, and painted high temp gloss black.

NOTE: Installing this mount will increase vibration, but its really not that bad, not like it shakes the car to pieces or anything. I can't even tell anymore on my car. Will greatly help to reduce or even eliminate wheel hop on hard launches. Gives a much more solid feel of the motor and transmission.

Price shipped to your door: 45.00

I accept paypal and MO's. I have 1 mount all ready to go, and one more that will be getting painted. I can make many more of these also, so I'm taking advanced orders if you would like one. Here is what it looks like:

I'm not interested in buying one, I made my own... but I wanted to complement you Matt, on a good design. I like your idea of using a 2x4 to reduce the number of welds, increase strength, and reduce cost of production. Looks great! Good job!

You and I should get together sometime and start a TV Show called "2GNT Chopper" lol

TX- sent you mail!

Hahah yeah that would be sweet! I contemplated for a bit on a design, and just thought this would be the easiest way to do it. Very strong, and minimal welds. But making them still takes a while, as the holes all have to perfectly line up, and be straight, or else it wont fit on the car right. This new floor standing drill press is coming in handy So who gets to be Paul JR.??? hahah

I have enough blanks now to make around 6 or 7 motor mounts. I can take paypal or money orders, prepaid. Turnaround time on them is around 3-5 days, as the paint needs a few days to cure. I am always making the test pipes, just send me mail to let me know you want one. From what I can tell, the auto and manual trans both use the same exact front mount. Shouldn't be a problem.

Travis- The test pipe should fit right up, as the cats are identical on your car, to the eclipse/talon.

ETX- I need to pick up a few more U bends for the upper section of the downpipe you want. Just get hold of me for when you want to get together and do it up!

Thanks for all the interest guys!

There really isn't much need for a solid side mount, as most movement of the engine/trans is front to back, not side to side. It would be more benificial to put on a solid front, along with a solid rear mount. I may work up a design for the rear mounts, but this will be much more difficult, and also would have to make 2 different ones, because the auto trans mounts are differernt that the manual trans ones..

Originally posted by XtremeRSI may work up a design for the rear mounts, but this will be much more difficult, and also would have to make 2 different ones, because the auto trans mounts are differernt that the manual trans ones..

Matt- While the stock ATX rear mount is molded differently than the MTX rear mount, the bolt hole is in the same exact location. The only difference between them is the way each functions. Basically, the ATX rubber is thicker and supports the addition weight of the trans and the MTX rubber is thinner controls movement better. In summary, a solid rear motor mount will work in either application. Only one design is necessary.

How hard of an install is this? Anything special required? Or just kinda support the engine with some wood/jack unbolt the existing mount, install this one (bolt on), and done? If so I'll take one and paypal you the money asap. Thanks,
Sid

Install is very simple. No need to support the motor. Just jack up the front end, remove the 2 bolts that hold the mount to the crossmember, then remove the center through bolt that holds the mount to the motor bracket, and then replace with the new solid mount. Very straight forward. I include install instructions with every mount also, just for kicks

Also, for everyone who has paid up to now (Saturday 2/7), you mounts will all be going out on this Monday!
