The car i plan to get is an Auto 1995-1997 GS. It will eventail have a stage 1 or 2 HRC turbo kit on it and i was wondering what is the best way to launch with an auto?

Me and Niclipse will back him up on that one. (we're both auto)

Autos will move and are damn good for racing from a rolling start. From a dead stop *cough*.

There is a reason the Pure Rage had to use some NOS to get his car moving until the turbo spools.

yeah you should get stick dude? Do you know how to drive stick? If you don't you should try it and compare. Some peeps say it's too much work but after a while you don't even think about it. You can do a lot of cool stuff with a stick too hehe.

Ahhh yes powerbrake would be a good way to take off, I would do that or just ease the pedal enough so it won't squeal and then floor it when your off.

Just wondering but do any of you auto guys left foot brake in the corners? I always wondered if it work in an auto, I would think it does.

I found a new one that works good for me. Better than powerbraking even. Neutral drop without revving. Put the car in N at a stop, and b4 u go, release the brake, when u wanna go, drop it into D and floor it at the same time. It's a really good launch I think. I haven't tried it but a few times. The tires spun and I didn't get the CLUNK like you do from revving to about 5500 and dropping into D. It seems pretty effective and seems safe. I can rebuild the tranny cheap tho, so if I break it, I rebuild it for about $200-250. I work in an auto tranny shop and my dad and grandfather own it. I can do the level 10 rebuild for that price. I don't want a stall speed converter tho. You have to powerbrake to launch then. I am thinking of doing a shift kit soon tho to try and rev a little higher and firm up my shifts. Right now on the stock auto, at times, I can chirp into 3rd. Not everytime tho. It impressed the hell out of me that the car can build that much momentum to chirp 3rd with few mods. I'm rambling. Sorry.

And as for the corners, I just click it out of O/D and then let off, and in the curve, I accelerate out and get some spin b4 I exit the curve. I have killed some camaros and mustangs like that, cuz they won't take 40 MPH curves at 60 MPH. I only take the curves faster if I know the roads tho and I test the car's ability on the roads I drive on. As far as each time, I gradually increase speed till it feels like I might lose it. I think driving like this improves my skills a bit, but I don't reccomend you do this right when u get your license.

I got this idea also after mistakenly doing it in a rental uhaul truck (lol, wanna race?), but i think its basically the same as neutral dropping, cause auto trannies take a little bit to engage since they're electronnic

it might be the same, it just didn't feel as bad as a 5k rev on an auto. That feels like your tranny is gonna fall out or some shit. It's like CLUNK screeeeechhhhhh. haha. Sux, but it is a nice launch to rev up to 5k. You 5 speeders are lucky. I hope to get me one soon enough.

That is just plain CRAZZZZY. You're gonna trash your tranny AS WELL AS your drivetrain.
And 9d9, you can chirp third? Thats pretty cool but, cause AT's shift so smoothly, I can't see how that is possible. On wet roads, I can light em up in 2nd but it's all boost.

Chirping third gear in with stock auto?! Theres a line between 'it's possible, and bullshit', I think you just crossed it. How do you do it, just floor it....c'mon...

well guys its not impossible to chirp second ... u just need timing .. by releasing the gas pedal anywhere above 3500rpms u can shift the car into the next gear
now when u are climbing out of 1st ( and thats a climb i know ..hehehe ) when u hit 6000k ... or a smig more 6125 .. release the gas completely the car will shift ... the second it catches ( i mean to the millisecond ) nail it .. u should hear the quick sound ( chirp ) followed by a decent pull... if u miss well u missed try again !! lol dont "n" drop it .. ever
ive been also looking into e brake launches but they dont work to well either best bet is battling the stall speed .. 2200rpms with your power break

I know what your talking about with the shifting. I found out on accident ( I'm used to owning a stick and my shifter looks like a stic so I still get confused) when it was about to shift I let off like I was the on going to do it and got back on it (WOT) and that ended up being great! Now I always do it when I'm runnging with someone. I recommend it!

get a stick if you want to go fast. I personally would get a stick if I could do it all over again, but ... I like the smooth sailing of an auto and I'm not a racer so auto suits me fine. I would like some more power though.

I can chirp 2nd pretty much on command now. I have actually, I know nobody will believe it. I didn't. I spun in 3rd. Somehow, I let off at about 55-60 and then re-applied the gas, and some weird shit happened with the tires. I was beside a wall, and some dumbass wasn't yielding to get on the hwy, so I did it, and he tried to race after that. Don't ask me how it did, it'll probably never do it again, but I know it did it. It doesn't really chirp 3rd at 7x all the time. I can get it to happen somehow when I am usually on the on ramp to a 70 mph hwy and the car in front of me is only doing like 45. When I speed up, the car usually jumps ahead and you can feel the tires bark. You can't really hear it b/c all the road noise, but by hearing/feeling it do it into 2nd, I am pretty sure it has done it into 3rd at times. I'm not saying my car is fast, just saying somehow it has positive shifts. Maybe my gears are just spaced out now and they hit hard from wear? My friend gave me a bs flag on chirping 2nd until I said get in, I'll show u. He was amazed that I could do it in my auto and he couldn't in his 90 accord auto.
