Sorry to jump in your post but... That kinda joy reminds me of my (now dead) sunroof... which I ended breaking up one of the rails and cutting up the cable so I could finally close my sunroof after 3 days fighting with it. (Check post below)

I guess things were not up to me this time. Now I'm in for a new rail, cable, and whatever else needs to be replaced that I ended up smashing... Hey BuckNutty ! I guess your course of action worked and God it felt great !!!
