The Quaife is not a clutch type, it is a torque biasing type. It operates on a whole different principle. I don't know how to describe it accurately enough to say, but hopefully someone can explain it to you. I know a clutch style diff operates just like an open diff once you start spinning 1 wheel. Once you overcome the friction of the clutches it doesn't help any.
