Yeah, I thought of the kick panels, but im a big guy and my car is a manual, so I would not have enough room at that point.

When I realized that they were too tall, I just cut the hole in the stock grill, they sounded too good in there

They actually put out more bass than my MTX 8" subs I had in my single cab ranger
