Actually the equation goes like this....say your pushing 142 with a 1000 watts behind it, to get a 3dB bump you effectively have to double your power.....or do some serious engineering changes to your enclosure.....but that's the standard guidline, 3dB= a double in power...... Best bet if you have the cash is to find a damn good installer....my boy that designed my box spent about a month working numbers together to get max efficiency out of it, he took everything including the vloume of air on the car into account, it was a pain, but in the long run it worked out. One thing if you not worried about weight to badly is definitely Dynamat, it kills the standing waves and things of that nature that will have an adverse effect on your sound.
