I think its called the subframe, i couldnt find it in the chiltons or service manuals so i am goin to call it the subframe

the part i need is wear the lower control arms bolt to under/behinde the engine, it would be a bitch to ship this thing so local would be great

the front "subframe" of a uni-body car, is actually called the front 'stubframe', it provides a mounting point for the front suspension.

You need the Crossmember... it BOLTS IN, you don't need a plasma cutter. It's very easy to remove and install. I found one at a local parts yard.

Remove control arms, exhaust, engine mount, stays, a few lines and any other suspension components. Ofcoarse, I did a swap while the engine/trans were out... but it still shouldn't be too bad.
