it works fine and doesnt trip any codes? what did it come off and with what milage because i believe 97 is a split year for that part

NOPE you are wrong. what do you have to base your information that 97 the part was changed?

96-99 is the same.

you can go buy it from the dealer if you like.

According to the dealer (at least the dodge dealer in Joliet) the first two are the same part that gets ordered. I didnt know the 99 was a split year though.

Technically 7/95 was the original design for the 96 model year since 95's never used them and 8/98 was a 99 model year. So 96-98 were the same and a few 99's possibly.

To avoid any further offtopic debate, the EVAP pump this guy needs for a 97GS
can be found on any 96-98 car manufactured between 7/95 and 7/98.

The part number is M04669306.
It is located in the front passenger side of the engine compartment.
