Grain was selling neon trans for something like 250, I think you just need your stock bellhousing. Maybe the cheapest way to go if he still does that.

how bad is your trans? i could rebuild it but if you did too much damage it could get ugly.

Well, it sat for a while and slowly leaked out the tranny fluid, i didnt realise this until after i burned it. my gears will engage, but barely. like my shifters too short, yet has full range of motion. I would rather pay more for the eclipse tranny unless its not too difficult to swap the neon internals into my bellhousing. Thanks for the help.

also, i did try adding new fluid (yes the 13$ a quart stuff). A friend of mine/mechanic says its internal 4 sure.

yeah you ate up the synchros for sure. if you send the trans to me you are looking at 550.00 to rebuild it and you pay shipping. if you damaged and of the gears or forks it would cost more. If engaging while its running is your problem then a overhaul kit will take care of that.
