#77523, "FS: Turbo COLD AIR INTAKES!"

Okay, here's what I got going on for the turbo cold air intakes. I made of these for my car, and seems to work good. Pretty much what this is, is a piece of 3" intake piping, which is silver in color, and you connect it to your exhisting intake pipe coming off your turbo. You bend it yourself, it has flex to it, to go under your fuse box, and down into where your front wheel is (pretty much same as a cold air intake for n/t's). I have detailed instructions on how to do this, and new brackets to hold your fuse box up since you will be removing the stock intake box. This kit includes the 2 foot long 3" silver pipe, a 3" pipe coupler, and 2 hose clamps. The pieces were a little more than i expected, so its going to be $68.50 shipped, and I must also add, that I am making zero cents from this, its all is parts, so if you would liek one, PM me or post here.

deff not good since your sucking water into your motor, but my intake kit doesnt sit that low to where if you were driving in water conditions, it would suck up water.

you can always throw in a bypass valve. AS for me, since it's summer i don't have to worry about water injestion, but come rain, i'm swapping it back to the shorter intake.

actually, i have a cold air designed in the same way.

you can go on ebay and buy a cheap ass ram air intake for an eclipse, 95-99. its 3" and works perfectly with the HRC intake pipe and works perfectly.. cost me like $30 bux shipped.

What do you mean you bend it yourself and it has flex to it? I thought it was a 3" aluminum pipe.

www.gsturbo.com/james

in the root you will see a video of the cold air intake for my turbo system. watch the end of it to see the actual setup.

that was my test fit with it. afterwards i had it painted to match the hrc piping.

That's funny, My high pressure fuel lines are flexable. emoji

Here is mine. 130* Intake temps were not doing me any good so I fabbed this guy up. The powder is clear red, I love it. I'll most likely be doing my valve cover with that power before the SO.

Whats the point in a CAI with a turbo... The turbo heats the air up anyways. Thats why you have an intercooler. I would think a CAI isnt going to make much of a difference anyways on a turbo set up. Your defintaly gonna get cooler air in the begining, but it seems the turbo would heat it up to a certain temp anyways. Im not turbo and I could be wrong, but it just makes sense that way. A bypass valve wont work cause the turbo will pull it open from the vacumme it creates. I wouldnt want to risk sucking up some water and destroying the turbine blades and possible the motor too... One drop of water will put a hurting on the turbine blades at a good spool. emoji

I built my own power coating oven, I coat the shit out of everything. Check this out http://www.etherealdesign.com/pics/25g_intake2.jp g . It's transparent red, I used a wire wheel on the stock to give it a brushed look and then put the powder on, it came out great. I'm gonna do the valve cover whenever I get a chance. I have a super nice blue w/ perl type color that I haven't tried out yet too. I can't really put blue on my car, heh.

If you look at the pic I posted again the coolant lines are plain ceramic red, that's what standard powder looks like. The high temp stuff I use on exhaust pipe has a dull look cause it's got a lot of silicone in it.

Edit: BTW, I'd sell turbo intakes like mine for $60 all fucking day if people wanted them, heh.

Hehe. So are mine! I guess if you could find some nice 3" ID SS lines that would make a good intake pipe. Gonna be expensive though!

Derek- you need to coat the rest of the piping also when you get the valve cover done. It looks great.
