2003 Lancer Evolution 8
It currently has 24,770 miles but will be going up slowly since it is still my daily driver until it is sold. It has every option for the year except the silly expensive boost gauge cluster.

I've treated this car with so much respect that it almost sickens me. It is still running very strong on the original stock clutch as a testament to the treatment of the car.

I always changed the oil with Mobil 1 10w-30 synthetic and used only OEM Mitsubishi oil filters. The car has been mechanically perfect since the day I bought it. It has one very tiny door ding on the passenger rear door that is only noticeable from a certain angle, and there is a small mark on the bottom lip of the front bumper from some kid that threw a rock into the middle of the road as I drove by (pictured below). There is a very small rock chip in the windshield that is smaller than a dime which happened the second week I owned the car and has not gotten any bigger since. There is a 1" scrape on the driver side door right under the mirror from a rock flying off the massive front tire. I asked the Mitsubishi dealer about that and they said they can't do anything about it even though it was caused by the car itself. Other than that, the car is pretty much cosmetically perfect. No curb damage to the wheels, no other door dings, no bumper scrapes, etc. The car has never touched another car or object in its short life.

The car is currently sitting on Sumitomo HTR+ 235/45 all-season tires. They are pictured below and probably have about 85% tread left. I will also include with the car the original OEM Yokohama ADVAN tires that came on the car. I bought the car in October 2003 and only used the stock tires for about 1,000 miles before getting all-seasons. The OEM tires are pretty much perfect.

If there are any questions, please feel free to ask. I am selling the car because I am tired of making such high payments on it. I bought another DSM as a daily driver and now need to sell the Evo. I'm really not in any hurry, so don't expect me to drop the price due to time restraints.

The private party blue book price for the car is $23,675 and the NADA value is $26,325. I won't go below the blue book price and to be honest the car is worth at least that. I won't be one of those idiots that lowers the price to 20k just to get a sale. I can hang on to the car as long as I need to sell it. If you are going to make offers of $20k and $21k, don't bother. This is a great condition Evolution that hasn't been modded or abused and should be sold as such.

I am located in Rockville, Maryland. Zip 20852. I am minutes from Washington DC.

I posted one picture, but due to the size I linked the rest.

I would gladly sell it to you Jon. I know you'll take good care of it.

The sooner I sell this the sooner I can get to work on the new car. emoji

That's in between trade & loan value. You could probably try eBay.

What do you mean between trade and loan value? I think I understand but could you explain a little more?

Unfortunately every Evo on Ebay gets to around $17,000 and then never sells. It is a waste of money. People are looking for the dumbass that is desperately selling an Evo for less than $20k.

Basically every car has 3 values: Trade (middle), Loan (lowest), and Retail (highest). They're basically statistics of how much a bank will loan you for a specific car with x miles and x options, or how much a dealer will give you in trade, or how much a dealer would sell it for.

This is much more accurate way to value a vehicle. It comes from NADA, but not the consumer side of things, it's for wholesalers.

If the price of a car is at loan value, chances are a bank will finance you. They hope you'll default on payment so they can repo it and sell it. Same if it's in between trade and loan value.

I haven't paid over loan value of a car in the passed 3 years.

My brother's a wholesaler, which is where I learned a lot of stuff. I also have a log in to the business side of nada, which is where I checked your car with 25k miles. It came up with $23,375, $21,125, and $26,250. Your mileage is a $275 add, and $450 add for a power sunroof (I guessed that it is).

If you ever hear someone refer to the price of 'middle book' it's actually in reference to Loan value. If you look at it, the values are ordered like this: Trade - Loan - Retail. So if someone says 'left book', it's trade value.

PM me for the NADA login.

Wow awesome information. Thanks so much! I guess Carmax lowballed me with $20,000 yesterday. Bastards.

I think Autotrader might be my best bet since most of the ones on there are going for 25k.
