when can you get access to one with like under 60k, i want one for sure man. is there anything i need to change on it or anything or does it bolt right up? also, does it use a modular clutch? are the gears the same, like ours... meaning in the same spots. and i heard it makes the turbo spool faster and that its actually a better tranny, is this true? LMK asap and i will take off your hands FOR SURE!

MIKE MIKE MIKE....... emoji you need to search dooood

3:55 tranny

1. Reqs bellhousing to be changed...need to use the 2GNT bellhousing

2. Need to change the shift arms (push out a roll pin and slide the new arm on. (i have heard some peole say you can get away with cutting off the counterweight on the shift arm.) Obviously i am talking about the shift arms on the ouside of the trans.

3. Uses the same clutch

4. Has 3:55 gears therefore will spool the turbo faster only because it puts a larger load on the engine. Best only if you are running higher boost. stock car will feel sluggish, liek you car has three fat women in it.

At John's price, i would personally jump on it if i didnt already have one...250 is a awesome deal. I paid 300 for mine at a local yard.

emoji4 tranny's are going for 350.+ right now
Terry

well mike just keep in mind the synchro's for 1st and 2nd gear are not repairable. the shaft can be disassembled (with a press) but parts are not sold for it since the dealer considers it a non servicable part.

Yeah it sucks. They are the most common syncros, and as mentioned you can only buy a complete input shaft from the dealer... which is like $1200 or something...

My first tranny lost the 3rd gear bearings, so I had to get a new tranny.
I did the whole neon 3.55 route. It's not that bad... You have to take the bellhousing off, but that's about it.

I still have that tranny if you need it.

See ya.

mr.slick, you have the 3.55 tranny ready to go with the bell housing and pins or whatever i need to bolt the bitch on? dont i need a diff motor mount too or something? how many miles are on your neon tranny and what are those synchro's like? i DO NOT want a tranny thats gonna shift like shit ya know. i am willing to spend around 250-300'ish, but 300 is like my max since grain is doing 250 shipped. LMK about your 3.55 mr.slick, and grain, if mr.slicks doesnt turn out, when can you get ahold of one when you get out of chicago??
