#40196, "WTB: HID Kit"

i let someone drive my car while i drove my dads, and i dont like my headlights, they're ugly. Anyone have an HID kit for sale or know of a real good place to get them? lookin to spend like 200$ but that's probably a low-ball.

HA HA HA!
ahem, sorry. HID kits are not worth it, they are trash! The bulbs look real cool at first, then they WILL change to purple shades and eventually PINK!! I dunno about you, being a girl, I wouldnt even want pink headlights. But I PROMISE no matter what kit you buy they WILL turn a different color.
If you heart is set on it though, 8000K will last blue the longest, imo. And they go for $600+ on eBay, more locally.

Lol. Get a second opinion from this one. So I suppose BMW and Mercedes lights turn pink? Its not the HID itself but the kit quality that matters. and you can find quality ones. There are many members here who are running HIDs and are satisfied with em.

True, second opinions are best. It's all up to you. I have not had them myself only because of what I have seen. Last summer, this kid with an Eclipse had an HID kit, looked fucking SWEET! The last time I saw him, back in October, they were really pink. He said he was pissed about the whole thing due to the cost of them, $1300. Maybe you get what you pay for.. I dunno.
I can only say what I know.

you can always get plain white light HID's, but i would get the blue-white light with the purple fringe...dont worry about them turning any different, just make sure the quality is good

Dont get them from bruces'. They refused to honor my warranty after mine crapped out the second time using them. Even though the receipt was faxed. They then kept on giving me the run around on the phone by placing me on hold for 30min + at a time, each time they picked up they would say they would transfer me.

Only when you are gonna buy something will they give you fast service and take your money.

I just called Bruce that works there and he said the price is now $395; it has gone up, but its still a bargain for 2gnt/asog members wheras the actaul price is over 470 dollars.

HID are worth it if you get good quality! They are not 'all' trash. My HID are no pink and its been about a year. This 'kid' must have painted his 'bulbs' pink. The higher the number the more blue it gets the less light it outputs.

What dum ass pays $1300 for HIDs?? for about $800 max i can get BMW/s2000 etc HID projectors retrofit into our stock headlights or really any headlight as long as it fits and can be angled correctly.
