#38968, "FS: 1999 OZ Racing GS Modds CLEAN & FAST!"

Here's a 1999 OZ Racing Edition GS

Odometer reads 102K miles, but I put a new motor in it at 100K.
Motor is brand new, just broken in with 2000 miles on it.

Lowered with Eibach springs and shocks/struts

17" 2001 GTS Special Edition Rims

Custom Vinyl

AEM Cold Air Intake, Bored Throttle Body, Ported & Polished Upper & Lower Intake.

Stainless Steel Valves with 3-Angle Valve Job
Crane Cams Valve Springs
Crane Cams #14 Cams
AEM TruTime Adjustable Cam Gears

Super-AFC already tuned & A/F Ratio Gauge.

New CV Axles (replaced when replaced motor)

Clutch has about 20k miles on it.

GReddy Large Tube Stainless Header & Down Pipe, Hollow Cat.

B&M Short Throw Shifter

B&M T-Handle with "GO GO" button.

Silver Face Gauges.

I have a Nitrous Express 75 shot wet kit that I had planned on installing on this new motor, but never did. If you're interested, I'll install it prior to purchase. With the old motor, I got a 15.20 at 86 MPH. With the nitrous and new motor, it should be close to a 14.6 at 96 MPH.

With the old motor, I could hit 140 MPH EASY and still have plenty to go.

I'm asking $8000. It's going on eBay within a day and there's one on eBay with a lot less work that's currently at $6500, but it's an RS and NOT the OZ Racing Edition.

If you're interested, e-mail me at luke@2kmotors.com or call me at 281-850-2099.

Here's a comparison of this motor vs a stock GS:

Here's a HP calculation at the wheel based on MPH & weight in the 1/4 mile:

Also, the front brakes are new.

Rear brakes were done yesterday.

The engine has only tasted synthetic oil.

The transmission was also serviced yesterday.

It's also got an Unorthodox Aluminum 30% UDP.

The mirrors aren't factory, at least it doesn't look like it. But yeah, what's with the black handles and no rear wiper.

You're right on the mirrors sir. They look like M3 style, but you can see the pivot for the rear wiper arm in the lower left corner as it should be. There is also the sprayer on the top of the window. What concerns me is how we have a guy claiming a 15.2 ET here all motor...

Why does the 15.2 ET concern you? Want me to fax an E.T. slip? With a 50 shot (only 50 more hp MAX) I got a 14.81. It is the OZ Racing GS (the VIN will tell you it's a GS, too), I removed the rear wiper motor and hooked the nitrous arming switch to the wiper switch. Yeah, the mirrors are aftermarket, what sucks is I gave up power mirrors. Same with the handles, assholes tried to steal it and broke a handle, also bent the window lip in several places. They left when they heard gun fire. I think the black handles look good with the vinyl anyhow. I never broke the engine to begin with, but all I began to read about on here was people who spun bearings and bent rods. It reached 100k, and I began to sweat so I put a new motor in it. I'm gonna rebuild the old one and slap it on eBay as well, it's still got the cross thatch on the cylinder walls, and no scaring. I think it lasted so long because of the synthetic oil. It's actually a proven fact that it is benefitial, over conventional oils, plus I religiously changed it at 3000 miles, sometimes 2500.

Here's the eBay link for more pics and better description:

because if it is true, it would be the fastest N/A 1/4mi et this site has seen. The fastest so far is 15.3.

I think I speak for everyone when I say we've got to see the slip to believe it. If you can scan it and post it here, that would be good.

I'll find it. I don't have a dyno sheet, but I do have an ET slip. When I first got the car and ran it, it went 15.4 @ 85 and I was embarrassed. I didn't know that was pretty fast for these cars. I've got a cougar that runs 12.4's (11.9's by April 29), so 15.4 is pretty slow to me. I put smaller tires on it for better gearing, retarded my cams 10*, and put a bored TB on it. When I got the 15.2? (I think it was like a 15.26 or 28), it didn't phase me much. Like I said, I've got a pile of ET slips, both here in Houston and in San Antonio, but I'll find the damn thing. If not, I'll feel pretty stupid for posting without evidence. As far as power, I'm just going by what the program says. It's a nice comparison for someone on eBay who dooesn't know anything about these cars.

Are you sure you didnt run a 16.2? Because my car (when slightly modded w/ 8.6:1 compression) ran a 16.4. So I'd believe a 16.2 1/4 mile time. What mods do u have?

Anyone know anyone who can help me tune this in the Pittsburgh area (Greensburg)?

Mods List:

AEM Cold Air Intake
Bored Throttle Body
Ported & Polished Upper & Lower Intake
Stainless Steel Valves
3-Angle Valve Job
Crane Cams HP Valve Springs
Crane Cams Stage 3 Cams
AEM Tru-Time Adjustable Timing Gears
GReddy Large Tube Stainless Steel Header & Downpipe & Hollow Cat
Tuned S-AFC
Unorthodox 30% Under drive Pulley
MSD Ignition Wires
9.6:1 compression

My dad found the time slip. He doesn't have scanner or anything, so he's gonna mail it to me. Once I get it, I'll scan it and post it. Here's the stats for now:

60 Ft = 2.4043
330 Ft = 6.9667
1/8 ET = 10.1236
1/8 MPH = 67.78
1000 Ft = 13.2315
1/4 ET = 15.2689
1/4 MPH = 85.98

On the slip, I ran a guy who went 14.14, but had a slower 60 Ft, I guess he had an auto tranny???

The car may have more work than what's listed. The guy I got it from said he ported & milled the head too, but I didn't believe him. He sounded like a flake.

During this run, I had the PS & A/C belt off, only had the alt belt (I drive it like this all the time), removed the air filter, and took everything out of the trunk.

Things like this can be sceptical sometimes cause these people know these cars and their capabilities. Nice run tho.

not that it really matters now but i had a buddy with a 98 neon r/t that ran a 13.9 1/4 mile all motor. no turbo no nos but with every mod imaginable plus everything on the inside gutted. it was a pretty sweet moment

Had I known it was close to being the fastest, I wouldn't have sold it. The guy's flying in to pick it up tomorrow. I thought it was slow, I'm sure I could get it faster with some minor tuning. Like I said, it may have more done to the head that I don't know about; hell, it may even have different cams. I don't feel so bad about owning a 15.2 second car now.

Looking at the time slip, I wonder how much better your 1/4 time woulda been if you got like a 2.0 60'? What car were you up against?

I don't remember, it was some time ago, I wanna say it was a mustang, but I don't really remember. It just means I got out of the hole pretty quick, quicker than the other guy, anyway. Which basically means one of two things, 1) he had an A/T; or 2) he spun more than me. I wish I could take it to the track again before tomorrow morning. Oh well. I just can't wait to hit 11.9 in my cougar. You guys may look into The Clash of the Titans http://www.theclashofthetitans.com and look at the Ultimate True Street class, it's open to everyone, I've ran a couple eclipses and talons before. In 2002 I was the 14 second class champ (lost one race), 2003 I was the 13 second class champ (lost one race, again), and hopefully 2004 12 sec, but only time will tell...
