I think my tach adapter still works. I will go home today and double check if it is still installed. if I unhooked it, I will crank it up and see if it still works. I rememebr the car being more responsive without it, so I unhooked it for a while (I couldnt' pass emmissions anyway. no sense worrying about 2 more codes in my book). I am pretty sure it still works 'though. I will throw it in with the box for free.

you need the tach adapter or the unit wont work. its not just for emissions.

That's wrong. I've hooked up both MSD and Crane units with and without tach adapters in a 420a eclipse. Neither NEED a tach adapter to work but both will give you 2 codes (coil A and coil B malfunction or something). Other cars are not as nice as most import cars will not even start without the tach adapter.

Yes it's Coil A & Coil B, with the posibility of a multiple cylinder misfire code if you are good.

The car runs fine without them, the tach adapters modify the resistance seen by the ECU so it doesnt' trip an OBD-II Crap code.

With tach adapter no codes ... without tach adapter at LEAST coil A and coil B. You can get other various codes from it.

I haven't bid on any ignitions. I have a crane and I'm very happy with it.

uhhh......like I said. the car responds better without it. tach adapter is not needed to make the unit (or any other ignition amplifier) work on a 2gnt. just keeps codes from poping up. I drove without it hooked up for quite some time. btw, I just tested it today. it still works fine.
