Now that I've had a couple three shots of Jager (so good), I'll make what I think is an expected post from me in this thread. I am not about to argue and flame and piss and moan and fuck this up for everyone. That's not cool.
I will say that I personally think this is bullshit. Let's start with the basics, shall we? Check this from our original post back at the beginning of last month...
If this is the case, why then don't you sell yours for $20 shipped. You'll still be making a profit if you sell 10 or more of these. For someone who's been "making these for friends locally for a long time," I'm curious as to why you A) didn't have pictures of them on any of either your friends or own car in the past and B) the set you show in your pictures seems super brand new and you refer to it as a "prototype?" Don't sweat it bro, here's a quote from your GB that seems to be popping up all over the place...
I understand this is all good since it's all for the family and such, but I have to say I feel somewhat robbed here. I'm honestly super turbo pissed off about all this shit. It's not worth it imo. I will talk with Uber about this little project over the next couple days. I'm not sure what will come of it. Maybe we take our price down to $26 shipped, but then you'd probably get some other deal from your connection and offer them at $24. So that will obviously put us right back here. I guess maybe we'll take your original idea and offer them for $20 shipped. Maybe we'll sell them for $10. Maybe we'll just be the nice guys that we are and give them away for shipping costs alone. Maybe I'll let this get to me to the point where we make them, give them away for free and I pay all the costs out of my own pocket. Or just maybe I'll say fuck it and just make them for the local guys. I don't know at this point.
However, at this moment, I'm thinking a challenge of sorts on these things. I'm proposing that no one buys a kit from either of us until January 15th. At that time, we have at least 10 kits ready to go each. We have our instructions posted online, we have pictures of exactly what comes out of the box when it arrives (as in the nekkid kits), and we state specs. I mean total length wire used, it's gauge, strand count, resistance per foot, temperature handling, etc. Then everyone can look at both kits and make an informed decision as to which they want to buy at that time.
Right now it sounds like you want people to just send you the money first. No shit, if I had people sending the money first, then these would be long gone by now. That's not right imo. "Hey. If everyone sends us the money first, then we can sell them all." That's exactly what you're doing do0d.
I won't say another word about this fiasco until Sunday night, when Chris and I will make our final decision on this project once and for all. Until then everyone who wants to save $2 and still wait the same amount of time or longer go ahead and sign up.

You can sell for whatever price you want. I don't really care. I had the first setup from the drawing board to the engine bay. Funny how I posted my kit was installed on a Friday and by the next Monday you had a working "prototype". AS far as that goes, who copied who? You beg me for little details such as what type connectors, wire type, and I even tell you these things along with what size terminals to use. I say quit your bitching. AS far as the price drop is concerned, we found an alternative to monster cable (2.25/foot)so we can sell cheaper. Sounds to me you didnt have everything organized and now you are shitting yourself trying to get things going. You want installed pictures my friend? Well, I could give you the names and numbers of the owners and you could ask them how they like their kits. Or maybe you could just make a kit? AS far as posting wire lengths, thats a great idea! Especially if you'd like people to make their own kits. After I sell 20 kits, if i get that many 420a sells, I'll post up exact wire lengths and terminal sizes for everyone. Hell, once I make the 20 kits and they are shipped out, I'll do a step by step overview of making a ground wire kit. <- Qoute me! You cut some wire, you strip some wire, you crimp and solder on a connector and you're done with it. This isn't exactly rocket science. While we appreciate the effort, you aren't exactly creating something radically innovative.
I can't believe someone would actually concern themselves with the STRAND COUNT of this wire. You boys need to move up the ladder a bit, and apply this energy to something a little more worth while!

I personally would have bought from DR and uber before all this drama...but I hate to support either party after all this...screw it I'll just make my own now. When i signed up on your list i was thinking that you were DR1665, i wasn't paying much attention to the member, because i thought DR1665 and Uber were the only guys putting this kit together. i had originally planned on buying my kit from them. I will wait and see what happens before i put my name down for either list. please don't take that personally, i'm just going to wait to make an educated decision. thanks

personally i don't like seeing two grown men argue like fuckin old women!! I just don't wanna hear the shit, you both are making a product for the 420A community it's that simple! You're right, you can make your own for cheap. I made mine for about 10 bucks. However, some people don't have access to the wires, or don't want to measure and cut etc. JWoodley, please start a new post about this GB because the flamers have ruined it. I'll lock this one so you can start a new one. Stop flaming on here. It's a free world. Anyone can make or sell anything. It's just like how so many companies make CAI. You don't see Iceman or AEM arguing with other vendors that they had the idea "first." Grow up and enjoy capitalist America.
