It is the same motor. beside the Talon/Eclipse, also look into Avenger/Stratuses.

As far as tranny goes, I would prefer to salvage the motor from the same tranny donor. Try to keep the years the same too ie: 95-96, and 97-99. There are some known sensor differences, hence stick with your year.

how come not just build the motor?

Are there not any 420a motors in Canada? I would imagine that shipping a motor out of a country will be pretty expensive.

What is wrong with the current 95 ESi motor?

Good Luck with the search.

I think you'd be better off just paying a shop to rebuild the existing engine or source a rebuilt engine. Shipping a used engine up to Canada and then paying someone to install it won't be cheap (plus you get no guarantee).

Back to factory standards.. emoji

I would estimate around 1300 on parts (if you are planning to go to reuse parts here and there, it will be cheaper). Labor should be no more than another grand. Why not take the opportunity to upgrade the internals, unless you are planning to sell the vehicle.

post this in the general forum. Got anymore questions...ASK!
