are any of yall running the 64bit version of windows with these cables?
Not sure how well this would work, but it's cheap enough. Only $3.99 shipped after rebate. $5 rebate is good until 8/31/12 by the way.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812226043According to one of the reviews, "got it working in Windows 7 Pro 64-bit edition after installing the Kingwin drivers from their web site".Another option would be good old ebay... even cheaper at $2 and change from a US seller... even less if you get it from hong kong. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?LH_BIN=1&LH_ItemCondition=3&_sacat=0&_nkw=usb+serial&LH_PrefLoc=3
Anyone know anyone who can help me tune this in the Pittsburgh area (Greensburg)?
I just got screwed with one from Hong kong thats why I came here. Sometimes being cheap comes back to bite you. Thanks for the help guys as I overlooked amazon as a source to find one of these cables.I ended up going with the http://www.amazon.com/PTC-Premium-Converter-Detachable-Extension/dp/B003TYCHIC/ref=sr_1_49?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1342648989&sr=1-49&keywords=usb+to+serial+adapterBecause it runs on the FTDI chipset which from my last 2 days of research tells me that it is more reliable and pratically works with everything. And it was only $10!Admins feel free to lock this one up.
Running 32 bit.
