I ended up making some block off plates today for myself (map sensor, cam sensor, and egr plates), and there has been some intrest in map and cam sensor block of plates. I have enough steel left over to do 6 pairs (cam and map combo) and figured I'd see whos all intrested in some. One pair is spoken for already since Tim wants a map plate and Colby would like a cam plate. Nothing else is spoken for yet. If there's enough intrest I can make some more. Prices are $13 for a pair or $7 seperatly (includes shipping). I am willing to make egr plates aswell (same price would apply for the set). The 6 set will be done Tuesday of this coming week(my next day off), and for whoever wants one they will be shipped out Wednesday. I will post pictures later today once I'm on a computer and can load pictures.

I might want a pair if they look quality.

Understandable. I'll post some pictures of mine this evening. They are the first ones so I already have thought of ways to make them a little.bit better and mor appealing to the eyes lol. But I'll also post more pictures Tuesday when the now ones are cut so everyone who wants one can see exactly what they'll be purchasing.

Lol. Hell who knows?..(I thought you might have read it somewhere).. I hope stainless. It gets that pretty coloration when heated without worry of rust.

I believe it's stainless steel but I will find out. And as much as I wish I had room for a plasma cutter, let alone the funds to buy one haha these will all he made with my dremel and drill. By no means are these top of the line fancy made block off plates. I made them for myself and they get the job done. And since they got some intrest I figured I'd offer because.I know not everyone has the sources to make parts, even.simple ones like these. Hell, I didn.t even own a dremel until a month ago haha.

I also believe it's 8gauge steel (if I remember the label correctly), but I'll get a definite answer on that aswell.

I'd look for something along the lines of type 316 over 304. Less chance of corrosion, higher tensile strength (not that it really matters in this case), and the ability to withstand higher temps.

You could probably get away with using 10 Ga. (.135) over 8 Ga. (.165) sheet as well if that is an option for you. Going with the 10 gauge, you have a couple more options on your sheet size available. You could go with a 5x12' or as low as 4x10'.

Sorry! I know I was suppose to have pictures up last Tuesday, but i've been working alot of overtime at work so I have no had time. I will be cutting them tomorrow! sorry for no pictures/info and vanishing for a week.

Ok, finally got some time to cut a couple plates. Keep in mind these are nowhere near top of the line or anything but they've been on my car right over 2 weeks now and no issues what so ever. I only made 3 pairs, because that's all the time I had. One pair is spoken for, so only two cam sensor plates and two map sensor plates are available.
Now for the fact that i've never really made parts before (even a simple block off plate) ANYONE who does get one and is not satisfied just let me know. Hopefully i'll be able to correct whatever is not up to par on future one I may do. I'm simply doing this because I had some spare steel and there was some interest. They work fine on my car, but I may not have the same standards as others.
Also, since i'm still in the process on learning a good process to cut them (and they reflect it), there will be no charge what so ever. All will be painted black with Rustoleum high temp black paint. Just for looks.

They are a bit rough around the edges, but I applaud you for going the DIY route. Perhaps when you are cutting them out, you can try cutting them slightly larger than your template and then go around the edges with a grinding wheel to 'fine tune' them. Might give you a better result.

Regardless, they serve their purpose.

I agree 100%. This is definitly something that takes some time and patience, something hard to come by when working 60+ hours a week, but I'll eventually get better

Are you, using a stencil when you cut them out? Yours look rough needs abit more trimming.


Is the cam block off plate for those who run, MS or to prevent oil leak?

I agree, they turned out a little rougher then I would personally prefer, especially since their for other people. To me, they work. But the price better be fair, this first batch is free
