Trades of BOV's (Synapse or SSQV preferred), Tial 38/44mm WG's, will be accepted, we can negotiate cash on top of items, PM me.

Airbag - $75 shipped
I don't have a 2g anymore, and I figure if this can save someone's life instead of me blowing it up for 10 seconds of laughter; it's a better trade.

Autometer 2 gauge pod A-pillar cover, good condition. - $25 Shipped
(No pics as of right now)

Gloss red powdercoated valve cover - $100 Shipped (Insurance included and NOT optional.)

Hey, is the A-pillar pod a full pillar? I got a crappy half pillar which doesn't have the perfect shape to fit flat against the stocker and I'm NOT drilling into the middle of my stock A-pillar to attach the damn thing.

If this thing sits flat and looks good, doesn't pop off, etc, I'll take it

No, it's the half-pillar model.

Are you 100% sure about that? I'm using a passenger airbag from another car and don't have a "SRS light" on. I feel like the airbag connector was two prong and unlikely to be able to transfer data in addition to fire the airbag. If I am putting my passenger in danger, I need to take action.

I've used swapped airbags and never had any issue. (Granted, they never had to deploy.)

It's the steering wheel airbag, by the way.

Airbags are the same from 95-99. They're all 2 pin connectors. The only difference is what emblem was stamped into the cover.

the SRS ECU is slightly different year to year because of the harness and sensors.

It has nothing to do with physical parts. The SRS ECU has an internal embedded code that correspondes between the ecu and BOTH airbags. If your SRS light isn't on, and you've mixed your bags w/ different ECU's, check your gauge cluster to make sure the bulb is missing or burnt out. emoji

I've helped friends swap airbags in 2Gs before, never had any issues with the light coming on. Where are you getting your info?

EDIT: I just looked through the service manual and didn't see anything about the SRS ECU and the bags being married pairs.

This is simply untrue. The airbag control unit must be replaced after any airbag deployment. The airbags themselves have an igniter inside that can break, but the only communication between them and the control unit is a resistance check to make sure the igniter is present. All components must be sticker labelled with a VIN but that info is not communicated with the control unit in any way.

Also note it is a Federal crime to ship airbags unless you mark and declare them as hazmat and package them in a burstproof (metal or rated plastic) container.

(Label should read 'Air bag modules, Class 9 Hazardous Materials, UN3268, III (Recycled), 5 lbs.')

I've replaced gray bags with black bags due to a gray to black interior conversion but never touched the controller. That car was recently in an accident and both bags did deploy.
