Up for sale is the 2.6L stroker motor short block. It was oringially built by ARD for "Brynden" (i think thats his name), then sold to "whodatt1" in madison, WI, where hi had my brother pick it up and ship it to pittsburgh, PA.

Its a 2.4 block, then bored 20 over and stroked to make it 2.6L. I measured the stroke when i got it, but don't remember where i wrote it down; but i verified it to be 2.6L. So they are custom forged pisons and rods. I was told its 8.8:1. Since i bought it, i've had all new oem oil pump guts put in (rotor, spring, pickup tube, everything but the casting), new crank sprocket, new timing cover, new water pump. The oil pan that came with it left a lot to be desired, so i paid to have an aluminum one tig welded up (including baffles) to fit our cars, with a welded in oil return bung. I will send both oil pans. I will also include a brand new oil pan gasket.

I also purchased an oem Pt cruiser alternator mount, which will come with it and allow you to mount your alternator without any pissing around in our stock location. Your adjustment bolt fits right in there and you're good to go. Brand new.

I will send the drivers motor mount that came with it (all the others are trans mounts essentially) or you can fab something up on your own. I also bought a pt cruiser motor mount (brand new oem) that i was thinking of using to fab up a different mount - i'll include it for you to use. It also has an all red "2.6 stroker motor" valve cover that it will come with it.

It has 7k miles on it, and last ran 307hp at 16psi for whodatt1, and there was a lot more potential and tuning to be done, he ran out of injector and was putting in larger ones when the car was broken into and radio/etc destroyed, so the insurance company totaled out the car, and he was forced to sell the block...the furthest i ever got with my project was mounting it in the engine bay...i never wired the car up or finished anything else...

There are some other misc parts that will go with it, i just can't remember it all here.

whos crank, as far as i knew DCR was the only company that made a crank for the 2.4 and all of his stuff is done in house.

do you have pictures, proof of the stroke?

3k to throw down on a motor that has 7k miles of boosted life on it, is a lot of money... especially on a motor that has no pics or proof of the build.

also DCR only does their 2.6 builds with a one off billet tie plate. do you have pictures of this, with the pan off?

alot more information about the actual motor vs who had it would help you move this thing, especially if it really is what you are selling.

IMO post picture of the piston tops, the custom crank strap kit, the custom windage tray and baffle, ect. DCR runs promos for this motor at around 5k from time to time. 3k isnt a BAD price if Im getting the same motor.

Well, you can ask around, DCR wasn't the first to this, they are actually a very late comer to the 2.6L. I know Nemo from rage-tek made one long before them too. This one was built by a company called ARD in Texas, down somewhere by where DarkOne lives...it was made for a former member named Brynden...the engine never had more than 18psi ran on it, it wasn't beat on by the former owners, and is in very good shape still. I just can't finish the project because i'm getting married this summer.

It is all custom. Custom ground crank, custom forged JE pistons, custom billet rods. There is no crank strap because they did not change anything on the bedplate. Other than that it comes with all the additional parts that are listed above that are for specifically installing it in our engine bay (like tig welded aluminum oil pan) and has the correct timing gear in it for our cars (as opposed to the newer timing gear from srt4 blocks), and the newer parts that i replaced the 7k mile used parts with.

I have pictures around here somewhere, at worst, i'll have to take more. It looks like a rotating assembly. I'll try to show the stroke with a dial caliper.

Before i rip the engine in half, i'm willing to sell it with these parts included too, but it would have to be $3500 plus shipping:

stainless valves
brand new crower valve springs and titanium retainers

brand new arp head studs

That's almost a thousand more in brand new or barely used parts...

If i "prove" its a 2.6, are you buying it? I don't want to split the engine in half and ruin a perfectly good (read: expensive) headgasket just to prove to a few people that its actually a 2.6L motor if they're not going to buy it.

If anyone would like, they can come over and bring their own dial caliper and measure it for themselves. I live just east of Pittsburgh PA. I'll take a sparkplug out, you can setup your dial caliper, and i'll rotate the engine from BDC to TDC, you can then determine what the stroke is, multiply it x 4 and multiply it by the bore. Any takers?

And holy shit i've sold thousands of dollars of parts on here including full engines (including a brand new one with JE pistons, Crower rods, etc) without complaints. How the hell am i going to pass off a different block as a 2.6L when i have thousands of more dollars in parts to sell here? Ask DarkOne about it. A lot of the other older members know about it. Its the only one i know of in existence on this site.

Well, anyone is welcome to come on over and bring a dial caliper or dial indicator or whatever they want to measure it themselves. Just make sure its long enough because the stroke is ~107mm (ie, your tool better be able to measure 5"). I couldn't "prove" any other part on here, but have sold many. Terry didn't even get a pic of the quaife i just sold him. I couldn't "prove" the last engine i sold was brand new with brand new je pistons or crower rods, new oil pan, new oil pump, new bearings, etc, but when he got it, he was more than satisfied. I guess i'd rather buy something from someone whos sold thousands on a site and satisfied all the people with their expensive parts, then someone who has a "picture" of a supposed part in their possession. I'm willing to let anyone who is serious come over and check it out for themselves at my place.

PS. It looks like a rotating assembly. Just like every other rotating assembly. When i get it pulled from the car and on a stand i'll take a picture for everyone else to see if it isn't sold already.

PPS. Someone tell me how a "picture" is going to prove its 2.6L? My camera doesn't measure the stroke on engines.

EDIT: BTW, i'd like for you to "prove" that your motor is a 2.2L, or you should remove that from your signature...sounds like someone has a little penis envy here...

ok ok ok, first of all, if you remove the Pan, JE stamps their pistons on the bottom cups, and eagle stamps their PN on the I/h beam, 2ndly, a forged aluminum rod/piston that is say 7k babied miles old will still be aluminum in color and characteristics.

the crank the same deal. being that its a one off crank i doubt i can reference any kind of PN but you can catch my drift... their is no way to check for bearing wear w/o removing a cap which i wouldn't expect you to do, however i have had several customers walk into my old job (dyno/rebuild facility) and ask us to remove pans and main caps to inspect and check out clearance work with plastic gauge.

personally 3500 is a good price and a lot of money.

i am envious, with the turbo system i have, if i ever had that motor i would make 600whp easily. that would be a dream for me to have a motor like that.

no i didnt check your feedback, but still if i were to come get that motor from you, yes those are things i would chcek, i would ask you to pull the pan, valve cover, timing cover, ect so i could personally see, main studs, rod studs, head studs, forged internals. those are things that you can easily do here to quicker easier proof.

believe you me, if i had the cash here i would have driven the 7 hrs to you already and bought it, because its cheaper then building one myself.

It is still sitting in an engine bay right now, so i will have to get a different engine off my cherry picker, and then pull this engine, and put it on a stand. I will turn it upside down, take the oil pan off and take pictures for you guys. I'm very busy right now, that's why its killing me everytime someone asks me to take pictures of crap and whatnot...i got a hundred parts laying around here i need to get rid of along with doing my everyday shit...its hard to get all this crap done along with being a full time photographer. Hell, i have parts still new in the box and people ask for pictures...

I've seen this motor first hand multiple times in several states. I think I rubbed my ass on it in Chicago.

Aside from some crap fabrication by ARD that's since been corrected by multiple owners, it's a good motor.

I was there when Dino rubbed his ass on it in Chicago.

Maybe there are some other shops out there that have done a 2.6L, but I've seen neither anyone posting on either here or Neons about the 2.6 crate motor they just bought nor anyone advertising that they build them.

If you weren't around when Shamu swam among us, just take the word of the people who were. This is the ORIGINAL 2.6L stroker motor.

I kinda want to buy it just to prove it can run...and run good. LOL
