#108682, "WTB: single 9 to 1 (?) JE piston .040"

Maybe somebody here can help me out. I'm trying to get a single piston from a Howell rebuild. It's like pulling teeth. I tried through JE, but they said that I had to go through Howell; Great.

So has anybody got a good single piston (I believe it is actually 8.8 to 1) from a Howell rebuild gone bad? It is .040 over and must have the part number 437423 on it.

Thanks

I think you might be better off purchasing a new set. I remember someone once mentioning the older style JE pistons weight slightly more then the newer pistons. I guess you always have the part number to check...

Yeah. I'm not having any luck on these lately. I just lost a 10.5 piston to an oil ring problem. I wanted to get a replacement piston for that. They said they couldn't because it was a special order. I said you guys pump out 10.5's all the time! Yes we do, but that is a "special order" 10.5. Grr WTF?
