$3000 160,000 miles (last time I checked)
I currently have my 99 Eclipse GS in the shop because the timing belt went out on it yesterday. I anticipate that they will repair the timing belt only to find there are other issues going on inside the motor.
That said, I am trying to find out how much I could possibly get for this car with the top end of the motor questionable. This will help me with my decision making process.
The car is clean and in good condition for a 9 year old car (other than the motor). I detailed cars for a living, so I always kept her waxed and washed.
Items/Mods sold with car: OZ - Rims Leather interior Power everything Injen short ram air intake AEM Cold air intake (older style not installed) GS-T Exhaust Kenwood CD Head unit - Sirius Installed and ready for activation Rockford Fosgate speakers all around - stock size Alpine amplifier Tinted windows
Help is appreciated.
Thanks Ryan

Yeah the shop told me it could cost $1600 for the head work. If that is the case I may go ahead and have them fix it. If they start talking about $2000-3000 I am not going to be able to swing that. I'd rather sell it to someone who has more mechanical skill.
Still waiting on the phone call from the shop to tell me what they find after fixing the Timing Belt.

I have a build long block, low compression, made to be boosted. I'll sell you the long block($1600) and the turbo kit($1550) for 3K.... you're right around the corner from me...kinda (less then 2 hours away)
motor has less then 2K miles on it, and turbo kit has about 15K miles on it. only thing the turbo kit will need is a FPR and a fuel pump (too much hassle to remove mine from my car)

Do that ^^^^ (it's a really good deal), or tell them you're getting another head and just buy a complete head off a member here to have them install instead of having them have to take apart your entire head and rebuild it, they'll just have to take the old off and put the new on. It will definetly drop the labor costs.
I contributed to the Wiki! EVO IX - just a really expensive boost gauge and a K&N air filter 96 Eclipse RS -awaiting registration and inspection 95 Eclipse GS - parts car Mods/Profile - http://www.2gnt.com/index.php?d=cs82685

Hey Malenko, Thank you for the suggestion. I will consider it, but I had not planned on boosting this car. I have a 92 Talon TSI that is enough headache on it's own.
I was also thinking about the option of just buying a head and having them install it like CS was saying.
Anyone know of a place to get heads for cheap? It does not need to be setup for performance because I will probably be selling this car once it's fixed. The 3 cars are getting to be a bear to maintain.
