I'm likely going to be getting rid of my cams after the first of the year. Anyone interested in a set of Crower 2s for $350 shipped? Anyone looking to be in the market come Jan/Feb? Drop me a PM. We'll talk.

This is always the way it goes, man. You never have the money when you find the deal and vice versa. That's partly why I'm posting this now.
I'm de-tuning Daisy after the first of the year to ensure reliability while I get started building the rally car. The head is coming off in favor of some stock cams and a very mildly ported stock head. I can replace the Crowers fairly quickly, but the head will stay in a box on the shelf for a while in case I just can't bear to be mostly stock again. (Although it might be for sale come spring for somewhere in the $1500 range if anyone is interested.)
Shit. I've even got my 17"s for sale locally right now. Times, they are a changin'.

They are NA and will not work in air cooled German applications. From what I gather, they are okay in boosted apps, although running high amounts of boost might require dialing out some of the overlap. Crower 3s, on the other hand, are not a good idea for boosted cars at all. By the time you dial out enough overlap, you've negated any benefits to having the cams, imo.

You'll need new valve springs. OEM can't provide enough seat pressure, or support the amount of lift of these.
You'll get a good gain with a header & free-flowing exhaust, and they work well with head work. Get a bored TB to go with them. They're only as good as the supporting mods.

I gotta disagree here Cougar. I got 7400 on the engine now with crower 2's and stock springs. Used them specifically to show that upgraded springs are unnecessary.
