Ok The idea is great. No dought, but you had to use HONDA taillights. If you used Skyline taillights I would be sayin "HELL YA" or "Thats the SHizNIt" but Hondas and DSM are opposing. ->|<- I was surfing, and saw on ebay an Eclipse with Supra Taillights..that blew me away

My car isn't even complete and I got a shitload of trophies linin up the garage. What are your best ideas on a conversion? my car get's jocked up and down the west coast and some of your little remarks won't fade me. because the positives outweigh the negatives. I got people rollin their eyes at me at the stoplights cuz I pull up next to them and their sittin in their stock maroon eclipses with carbon fiber hoods.

First off, i think it looks great. Alot of people are stuck on the whole "i love DSM's, fuck Honda's blah blah blah!!". I like hondas, i owned one before and i'm prolly buying another one. Most people on this site aren't into show cars either, and have prolly never been to shows, and don't realize that it's originality, not stock, that wins shows. Who cares how many of you like the stock eclipse taillights, do you win shows? I've never won a show either, because i don't have the time or money to do this stuff, but if i did, i would do it too. I bet if Raizin and another eclipse with the EXACT same mods, minus the conversion, were in a show together, Raizin would win due to ORIGINALITY. If you want to be stock and stick to the track or whatever, thats fine, but you shouldn't hate on someone because they want to be different, especially guys who win more shows than you ever would. Just my $.02

Raizin, I LOVE the paint. If I were to get a paint job again, that'd be the color. I think overall your car looks good, but I have to agree that the tailights don't flow too well with the rest of the car. The tailights make the rear real boxy, when it looks better curved. I haven't seen a 2g with a skyline tailight conversion, and I think that would look good. Some other potentials would be: mazda 6 tails, rx-8 tails, s2000 (been done tho). It's really hard to get a conversion to flow, but one of the best tailight conversions imo is the 1g dsm with the skyline tails in your crew.

While you're hidin behind your computers, you know damn well you'd trade your stock loads in for my ride with a quickness. Talkin shit about my rear lights just because they're off an Acura. Shows how open minded some of you are. Besides, I own a HONDA CRX with a B18C turbo also and no matter what you do to your 420A's you will NEVER be able to hang with that unless your name is Bill Hahn or whatever that guy's name is with that fast ass Neon. But back to the Eclipse. I got more mods under the hood than most of you do on your whole cars. Matter of fact, I can probably buy three or four sets of your rims with what I put into it. And on top of that I pulled off what I did to the extior!? I can see why some of your are mad and bump your gums with foul shit flippin off your lips about my car cuz all you can do is buy a shift knob or air freshener for your load. But I don't hate.. I congratulate. See the only reason you're hatin is cuz you aint gettin none. But that's alright though. I said it before.. ALL opinions are appreciated no matter where you stand. What I don't appreciate is the choice of words you use because your anger shows and only makes YOU look like the fool. Don't fool yourself.. because you are not hurtin me. personally im not into cars with a lot of body filler. those tails r alright bad but they kinda messed up the line where the hatch closes (like all conversions ive seen). I still like the hood but you've had that for a long time. btw how much $ do you think youve put into it...not including the car. some interior pics would be nice

Just wanted everything to be smoothed out and flow properly. The 3G gas cap would stand out too much. I did pick up some of those APR mirrors though. The ones that look like motorcycle mirrors with the carbon fiber mounts. Right now my Tenzo Rally's are being wrapped in white and silver vinyl along with the back seat. The gray carpet has been replaced by a light silver and after I paint the dash I'm adding that aliminum dash trim. I did my headliner in white vinyl.. came out smooth. Im' still trying to figure out how I'm going to set up my stereo system in fiberglass while showing off the NXpress setup in which I'm converting to an Ntercooler. I don't get much turbo lag so I'm excluding the nitrous. If there is anyone in SoCal that wants a stock GST exhaust.. come pick it up for free.. it's just collecting dust in the garage.

i dont like the rims, but damn that looks awesome! i know its been tried before, but you should figure out a way to get a dual exhaust setup goin.

Man oh man. An 8 page long thread filled with a some ranting, a little raving, and the occasional insult too. Oh, and some pics of a pretty heavily modded Eclipse too with an awful lot of time, money and energy invested into it.

Now I've gotta come right out and say this up front before I ramble on - for me personally, body mods, wings, flashy paint, kits, and other stuff like that has no place on my car. Hell, I'm still on stock 14" steel rims if that tells you how much I give a damn about looks. For me, I'm more interested in speed and performance, so my money goes to that area first and then I'll worry about the looks later.

I don't really like trucks and SUVs all that much either, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate a nice pickup or sport-ute every now and then, custom or not. Being a car enthusiast is like being an art lover, a music lover, a wine lover, or anything else I think. If you truly love the hobby, you can almost always find something great about whatever it is someone's done - sometimes you just have to open your eyes a bit and look beyond what you saw the first time around; look a bit deeper if you will.

In my opinion, those eight words there carry an extra amount of weight, expecially in this world of kids with mommy and daddy's money, OMG2FAST2FURIOUS wannabe's, and Autozone Type-R sticker pack ricers. When's the last time any of you guys did any custom body work? It's NOT easy, I can promise you that, and it's not any easier to custom integrate stuff like tail lights and mold in body panels. On top of all this, he's got the underhood mods to back it up, (If I've read this trainwreck of a thread correctly!?) and people here still give this man a hard time. I'm not so sure I get it.

raizin, what exactly do you have done under the hood? this whole time ive seen you say you have so much work done but unless i missed somethin you never said what so im just curious what is makin you so fast. definately put dual exhaust on while your at it. dual n1's=nut bustin

fyi.. I'm on fourth engine believe it or not. I kept runnin it on stock internals until I went all out and used JE pistons and Eagle (cryogenically frozen) rods about three years ago on the fourth motor. JG Engine dynamics rebuilt the head for me with turbo spec regrinds. (that shit cost me a grand alone). Crank was knife edged and the machine shop made me a custom windage tray that I don't even understand how it works. The plenum is bored out to match the ported and polished head. A friend of mine built my 55mm TB as a favor. The turbosystem is the prototype Star kit with a Tial wastegate. I had a custom downpipe made by Enginuity of SD who also did my piping for my IC. I upgraded the turbo to the To4E BB awhile ago. Fuel consists of 500cc Venom injectors, SX engineering 1:1 regulator, AFC, steel braided fuel lines, and the walbro 255lph fuel pump rewired. AFC. I got a hold of the accel dfi.. but felt it was a pain given that my car is street driven so I traded that for a P4 laptop. I was running a 50 shot - wet nitrous system just for the hell of it. I've boosted as much as 19psi with no problems plus the nitrous. Couldn't go past that because I'd redline before then and I don't usually keep going in third (don't have to). Ignition is an MSD DIS2 with magnecor wires and platinum NGK v-power plugs. I had a lot of the metals under the hood chrome plated. I put in that UDP made by Howell and used some solid motor mounts. I lightened my flywheel and used an ACT clutch. I'm sure I'm missing something.. but you get the idea. I've been doing this way back in the day around the same time Wyatt and Dino were getting started. Oh.. and remember Stan? He was all up in the mix too. All this plus allt he extra goodies that are typical for a custom turbocharged engine such as an EGT, profec B, Apex N1 3".. blah blah blah. I'm sure I'm missing something.. but you get the idea.

after reading that, all i can say is dam and i hate and envy your engin nice work tho man. even tho i dont particularly like the exterior that much(just not my style), i respect you for the time put into it and more importantly, i respect that awesome engine. have you run it yet?

ACT clutch in a 420a....did I read that right? Is your car a 420a? Also can we see some pics of the engine.

yea it's an ACT clutch. the 95 420A's come with a non-modular/standard clutch that doesn't have the flywheel attached to the pressure plate like most of you are used to seeing/using. I used to have a dual friction clutch made by southland.. but that didn't last. I love the way the ACT "grabs" when when I let loose.

I just think it's funny how someone who has an almost stock ride who posts for people's opinions will get mostly encouragement, but someone who has spent a lot of time and effort on their car usually gets bashed. When you have spent a decent amount of money on your car obviously you had to choose one direction or another to modify your car. I know everyone doesn't have the same tastes, but it's really not that hard to avoid cursing someone out just because you don't like what they did with their car. As someone earlier put it, just say it isn't your style in an objective way instead of insulting the guy for the hard work he put into the car. With that being said, I think work done on the car is great. It's not exactly my style, but it's a great car.

Question: With the taillight converstion do you have to use a specific bumper with that or was that all custom done to mold it into the bumper. I might have gone with a different style bumper without those fins at the bottom, but that's just me.

Raizin, it's nice to see something new and different on the board, keep up the good work.

It's the Bomex bumper made for the RSX. Made it a lot easier to do the conversion because I had a template. But I did have to add fiberglass horizontally across in order to lower it down and mold the sides of a Eclipse Blitz bumper to it. The only thing not custom made are the sideskirts. One of the guys in my crew owns Streatweapon (Drift). He gave me the sideskirts.
