Manual transmissions always offer better control of engine speed in relation to acceleration/decceleration. This is why they are used in every race vehicle in the world. Sure, it might act like an automatic, in that, you don't have to clutch to shift, but they will stay in gear until they are shifted manually. When it's go time, you either wait for the slushbox to get it's shit together and drop a gear, or you're already in third and take that gap.

I learned to drive bitchshifter and I will avoid getting one at all costs. Thank God BMW still offers a six speed in the 7-series.
