Yea I paid approx 17,000 for the car I guess in my haste I may have missed mentioning that fact, looking back it was truly a good deal it just turns out that the original blueprinters/builders of the engine did not take into account the fact that owners would add turbos at a later date in California so they did not build a very clean motor and or a aftermarket turbo which would have increased sales as Chevy did with the Cobalt SS and that's what has me somewhat bitter but it's just a scrape on my nose no big deal I got plenty of options at my finger tips for tuning the car it's just choosing the route that makes me happy while trying to stay within the law. I could just go all motor go fo the max in that area and push somewhere between 150-180 to the tires not bad I can live with all motor and good fule milage, low maintance, low risk to my insurance policy etc...So I my not wind up in the fast and furious movie but instead quick and curious (B) movie...Ya just gotta take the good with bad and

I could add a Hahann and put a CARB Sticker on it or do the same with a Mitsu turbo which comes with a CARB (Just gotta get a Manifold fabricated to fit the 420a sneeky but it would work) and have the engine internals rebuilt but the down side to that is mabey getting caught by the guy doing the smog check in California and or fule, maintance, higher insurance rates etc... My biggest fear if I move back to my home state add the turbo then Texas changes the law and or makes a new law then I'm back to square one. So all looking at all the facts at this time till I decide if I'm going to pack bags and move back to Texas I think I'll just go all motor and live with it, at least I'd be quick which ain't too bad to live with till I get cash saved up all then decide my next move which may be anything from doing a full swap to buying an 08-09 Eclipse or Cobalt or whatever catches my eye but if I do I'll do my homework first!
I had a wild idea a few months ago...I can take this moter out put it into a Neon body (if I find one in great shape) then put a GS-T motor in my GS (Both should be fully rebuilt so I have an extended warranty on both) and it's a win win I keep my very good moter with low miles and end up with a 4 door for the future kids and or wife I have a fast eclipse and I'll have a pick up truck too boot, now it may seem goofy but looking at my past dealing with banks payments yada yada I win big time!!! ...Oh yea thanx for the pat on the back I really need it, sorry if I did not look at the date but it's kinda cool becuse I did not take up a lot of band space with a new thread.
