Are you referring to the dowels that align the bellhousing with the block? If they are mashed, you may need to reform them or buy some new ones. Do not install the trans without them though.

Also be careful to line the bellhousing and the block up as correctly as possible. Do not allow the motor and trans to sag as stress can easily crack the aluminum.
