weepul - it sounds like your problem is with the throwout bearing like Bill said. Your thowout bearing has the cold squeaks. You do have to take the transmission off to fix it. I would also sugguest living with it if you can. At the very least you should be able to take your time in planning to fix it. Throwout bearings usually take a long time to go once they start making that noise, so don't panic. I've seen them last thousands of miles with the cold squeaks.
