Take off your kickpanels and take the shift boot off with a Philips. Peel it back, and start moving it from left to right. Chances are, there will be a big void that is visible that keep going back and forth. Put in some washers. If that doesn't work, you might have a cheap aftermarket shifter or someone that messed with the linkage.


agreed, the guy that owned the gst before me put in a pos shifter kit...i have a shitload of play. i just haven't gotten around to fixing it...this thread however might spark my interest in getting around to it.
