I never understood the "double" part of it. Couldn't you just leave the clutch in the whole time? The definition of double clutching says you clutch, shift to neutral, rev, clutch, downshift, go. Why can't you just clutch, rev, downshift, release clutch, and go? Were you not able to do this in the older manuals or something?
