The link I used to have for the homemade FCD from radio shack parts is no longer working and I wanted to build up a new one since I can't find my old one in the garage.

There are 3 poles coming out of the 1k 15turn potentiometer. The pole closest to the adjustment screw is the 9v wire. The middle pole is for the 2 diodes that goes to the signal wire, and the pole on the end is the ground wire for the 5v.

Dj if ya need i have a drawing copy of the one your looking for just send me your email. I found the site on arhive.org but pictures were gone. I had to cut open mine to find out how the diodes were oriented.

Terry- Thanks, Email sent. I had built one like I said and vaguely remember what was in it, but certainly not the order of things nor the part numbers needed etc.
Thats too bad they took that info down, I wish someone would have snagged it before it dissapeared. That was info that could always be used.

Put something together for posterity and I'll see to it that it gets hosted here.
I think the main difference between DIY and professional FCD's is that DIY uses simply resistor + trimpot while the more expensive ones use zener diodes and logic gates as well.
