The link I used to have for the homemade FCD from radio shack parts is no longer working and I wanted to build up a new one since I can't find my old one in the garage.

There are 3 poles coming out of the 1k 15turn potentiometer. The pole closest to the adjustment screw is the 9v wire. The middle pole is for the 2 diodes that goes to the signal wire, and the pole on the end is the ground wire for the 5v.

Dj if ya need i have a drawing copy of the one your looking for just send me your email. I found the site on arhive.org but pictures were gone. I had to cut open mine to find out how the diodes were oriented.

Email sent. I had built one like I said and vaguely remember what was in it, but certainly not the order of things nor the part numbers needed etc.

Thats too bad they took that info down, I wish someone would have snagged it before it dissapeared. That was info that could always be used.

I think the main difference between DIY and professional FCD's is that DIY uses simply resistor + trimpot while the more expensive ones use zener diodes and logic gates as well.
