Hello all, I just realized the commotion going on around this site and I can explain everything!
First off, yes we did coat the turbo exhaust side and STAR Manifold with ceramic chrome. This coating acts as a heat barrier, preventing excessive heat from radiating out to near by engine parts. This cools the underhood air, it is still hot under there, but every bit helps. You do not want to coat the TURBO itself, you want this to stay as cool as possible, but the exhaust turbine side is well worth the benefit, hotter exhaust flows faster and in theory should help the engine turn the turbo faster, basically free horsepower. Each motor is different and if you are told it will increase your power by 17hp, then someone is lying to you.
Another thing, we offer the ceramic in about 4 different colors, we DO NOT USE High temperature powder coating. The highest temperature powder coating available right now, in flat black, is rated at 1300 degrees, the black we use is rated at 2000 plus. I have had many customers bring or send their parts to us that have had the high temp powder applied and it literally burned off within hours or minutes of being on the vehicle.
The picture of these parts this customer has on his car is on a rough cast part. Ceramic is a very thin coating and it shows everything underneath, the manifold would of looked much smoother with either a black or cast iron coating. Depends on what you wantthe look of, the piece can be sanded down for a smoother look. There is no outgassing in that pic, outgassing cannot happen with ceramic since it does not skin over like powder coating, and YES we know how to prevent outgassing on parts that we powder coat.
