Do the key dance instead. Give us that code, and I can more accurately diagnose your problem.

Any other symptoms? "It dies randomly" could be anything.

its no 5 volts reference to the map sensor.

check all connections to the black box and the map sensor, your reference wire is disconnected somewhere

yup....better yet get rid of the black box. you have a missing link. try it then and see what happenes. I thought there was a memeber on this board that the black box shorted out on him.

Just a shot once you get it to run. My 96 ran turboed for 2 years no missing link and no black box. No idea why, try it, worst you will have to do is intall a ML or FCD and reset the ECU.

i had that code when i had an SAFC...took it out and it went away.

take out your black box, and check the wire to the ECU for the map sensor, its yellow with a black stripe...likely its shorting out somewhere or the connection is fubar somewhere along the line

Yup like turby said i had the same issue with my SAFC, the same reason i remove it. some 96+ ECU's wont deal with it. Now the FCD i made doesnt give me codes, not sure why the Hahn would it really does the same thing i am sure, but others have noticed the problem too. At any rate good job.
