I was wondering if anyone has used a 1g manifold for a custom turbo on a 420a. Since it will bolt to the 14b i have all i am thinking about doing is cutting the flange of my manifold and welding it onto the 46g3 one and bam, will it work?

Won't work, although I do know one guy using a 4g63 exhaust manifold and turbo on his 4 cylider 3rd gen Eclipse. I guess with enough money and fabrication, anything is possible, but if it was that easy, don't you think someone else would have done this already? emoji

yeah but he must have the 2.4 4g64 SOHC in his Eclipse, very close brother of the 4g63 DOHC

and why trying to reinvent the wheel
just get a manifold made to fit the engine and the turbo

In summary ... NO emoji

I would not recommend doing any custom welding on a manifold, factory ones crack enough as it is. Welcome to 2gnt.
