Right, a lot of people are going to think this is a stupid question, but here's why I don't know...

I'm from the UK and importing an Eclipse, as they aren't available here, and can't find any info them. So I need to know a few things that are probably really easy answers to you lot...

Does the standard '95 Eclipse Turbo have a front mounted intercooler, and if so, how big is it?

What psi does a standard turbo run, and what bhp does it run as standard?

I did use the advanced search, but didn't have much luck...

thanks
Ronan

Thanks. Apart from the bodykit and respray, a front mount intercooler and hard pipe set is next on the shopping list!

1. It does have a SMIC.

2. The T-25 runs 14.5 lbs of boost stock. The solenoid may lower it though when the ecu/knock sensor detects any knock.

3. 210HP, stock.

OK, thanks. How much bhp can the stock internals take? If I do a turbo upgrade, what will be the first thing to go pop?

On a 95-99 turbo 4g63, usually 350 to 400hp is the rule of thumb.

The first thing to go pop is the crankshaft position sensor when the crankshaft grinds it way through the side of the block towards the tranny, due to machining errors in U.S. spec 7-bolt 4g63's, unfortunately found in all 95-99 stock turbo eclipses. Some may differ, but I would theorize that around at least 40% of all 95-up 4g63's, prior to at least 99, have this issue to some degree.

Good luck.
