bwah-hahah. Yes, I ran the Accel inline included w/ the HRC kit until it went out on me last month. Teh car still starts and runs fine on the stock pump, but i haven't driven it out of the driveway since the day that pump went out. I took the precautions, checked all connectiosn and tested voltages, it is definitely the pump that went out. I am going to drive it tonight, not boosted, as the fuel pressure still rises accordingly and the car is not leaning out. It just shut up. It was a very strange day. The day my car idled without making a funny ass annoying noise.
My plan was to eliminate the Accel altogether, and run simply the Walbro 255 hi-pres w/ my 40lb injectors (thanks Tim) turning the Craptech down to 4:1, if it will even do it (Yes, I said craptech). Mike @ Cartech said it is possible. We'll just see about that. All being correct, at 1.2 bar, i should be around 92psi of fuel pressure. (That's @ 20psi fuel idle base). The plan is to run approx 20psi on race fuel, and that's where I am most concerned. Sometimes, I feel as if i should just run 550's and a 1:1.
I know the Accel is rated to 125psi, and this part is "teh funny". I do not have a cockpit fuel gauge, w/ my 310 injectors, i was running a 32psi idle base, and at most approx. 1 to 1.1 bar. (15-16psi). Do the math, and on the current 12:1 HRC setup, that's over 200psi. I absolutely do not believe that it came even close to it, and @ 15psi and 110 octane, my EGTs were settled in at 875C (uhh...Yeah, like 1590 or 1600F). I can name a few more people who are doing the same thing.
In conclusion, I don't want to buy a pump such as the Walbro and then end up having to replace the inline to ensure decent fuel pressure.
