Damn, all that for $3000-3500? If it was that easy, I think we'd all have 300hp cars by now...sorry man, try and be more realistic. And don't be cheap, it just means you'll be right back where you are now before long.

are you in a hurry to get it done? if not, you could try and wait until HRC gets their stage 3 complete and ready for sale. then you'd be running pretty good emoji, but you could probably buy the s16g, (not sure if you have an intercooler or not) their big intercooler, fuel system look at something with maybe 440's ? the stage 4 clutch and get the head ported and polished....do you have the exhaust done? that should either get you there or close to it for around what you was wanting spent. then you could slowly add to it.
just a thought:shrug

engine rebuild kit ~ $1100
- (includes Pistons, rings, rods, bearings, oil pump, rear & main seal)
machine work ~ $500 or around there depending

Big 16G turbo - $450ish (I really dont know price, just a guess)
400cc injectors or 40lb injecors, around there
- sfmu unless you already have
- 255lph fuel pump unless you have one.

since you have a turbo kit though you probably have soem stuff you already need.

no headwork is needed unless head needs to be milled or decked. head is fine the way it is (look at HRC, stock head other than springs, retainers)

however much for installation, not sure on cost. parts and machien work is around 2000-2500. then installation. thats all you really need for 300 hp. mainly just build the bottom end to handle more power. head is fine how it is unless you want to do some headwork. big 16g is enough to get you to the 300hp mark. bigger fuel injectors unless you already have them. not sure if 30# injectos is enough or not.

you can do it for that price, a lot of it would be the installation though.

true, he doesn't have to do the heads, i was just saying that he could do them so that so much boost wasn't needed. just depends on which route he wants to go i guess.

ah ic. I would say though that since he is aiming for 16-18 psi or so and 300 hp that he could just do the bottom end and not worry about the head. He can do work on the head but that would cost more money. It would be easier to run more boost and spend less money. HOWEVER, if he does have money to get some things done to the head then go for it. Most will say at least get springs and retainers, but its not necessary.

Also, if you dont have a front mount intercooler, id say get one from HRC, and then get some mandrel bent pipes from summit racing or jc whitney and make your own ic piping. or you could have a shop do that too and it should not cost to much to have done. forgot about the IC but if oyu already have a front mount, no need to worry then. it would be better if we had a complete list of what you already have done so we could be more specific on what else you would need.

so you could have a built block and not have to worry about the head? as in you could take a built block and slap your stock head on it and everything would work all gravy?

YESSSS!!!!

the only thing you would need to check out on the had is if its warped or not. you might have to get it decked or something but just take oyur head off and clap it on the next one. HRC has a completely stock head except for springs and retainers. everything else is stock on it. the head will hand 500hp as HRC's does. its the bottom end that is the weak link
