yeah the stock star setup is way too much. I'm using a 10:1 and it worx fine. Just keep an eye on your gauges, I tried 8:1 and it wasn't giving it enough pressure.

I am planning on getting a star kit and I already have a SAFC. Would this help compensate for the 12:1?

i think u will have problems, the safc is not for making major fuel adjustments. if u order a kit it should come with a fuel adjuster of some type. my kit is custom, i dont have a pressure reguator thats i can i can adjust my fuel with, just the vortech fmu for now.

Actually they say if you run a SFMU that you should do a SAFC just so that you can fine tune it. The SAFC makes a huge adjustment in fuel. +/- 50% which is alot. But either way you need either a wideband O2 or a dyno with a sniffer to adjust it properly. DONOT use your stock 4wire O2 and a A/F guage to set your fuel with. THey are off unless youve had it calibrated on a wideband O2 already.

I think that you would need to run the 12-1 FMU with stock injectors. I could be wrong but I don't think 10-1 FMU disc is going to be enough with the stock injectors.
