The biggest reason i suspect the HG is personal experience: When my car laid dow 302wHP, we pulled it probably 15 times back to back. No cooldown, no waiting, no bullshit.. the machine never complained. it never overheated, the needle never moved beyond that 200-someodd degree dead level halfway point, even after **15** dyno pulls back to back (one a BONE STOCK cooling system - factory radiator, factory thermostat, factory fans), with only enough time in between to make fuel adjustments on an SAFC. That was with a small fan, in the dead of Houston summer, on a stock 95-96 front clip with an FMIC behind it. The factory cooling system is more than adaquate for power levels well beyond factory specs - if you have overheating problems on a mostly stock cooling system, suspect HG leaks first and the cooling system second. With an MLS HG and high torque head bolts or studs especially, headgasket leaks and the associated overheating can be very intermittant and very hard to diagnose. It honestly took me six months and lots of cooling system mods before i finally realized that it had to be the HG, because everything else was fine. Turns out i blew it in 4 places... but it still ran 13.90's at 105MPH, even hurt. It'll still perform, it'll still run great, there aren't always the classic symptoms of a blown HG, but it doesn't mean that it's not leaking. ______________________________ If a sentence found online has 35% misspellings or greater and includes at least two racially charged expletives, chances are it is a YouTube comment.
