How does one install the crank shaft pulley while engine is in the car. Please help, two very frustrated mechanics.

I used some WD40 and a copper mallet.

Heat is the best trick. I just use an acetylene torch to get it nice and hot then I just slide it on w/ gloves of course. Heat it up long enough and it will slide right on w/o any pounding.

when i did my shortblock installation in february, i put my AF/X UDP in the oven at the highest tempature for about half an hour. sh!t, that thing was hot. it didn't exactly "slip right on", you'll have to use a rubber mallet or something. i was too much of a little girl to use a real hammer banging on my crankshaft - kind of reminded me of crankwalk.

i have an installer for it. you can also use a longer bolt.
