i mounted mine up by the ID sticker on the firewall--you can see it up there...but in retrospect, i should have mounted it back by the stock FPR like the instructions say too....

If you're using the Vortech FPR that came w/ the kit, put it up under the car next to the stock regulator like the instructions say too. There was a post about a week ago or so that contained pics of someone else's mounted under there. It's tight, but it fits and it's the best location IMO.

seems to me it would be the same either place you mount it. if you mount it in the engine bay, you will have to run the long return line back to the tank, but a short line from the rail. and if its back near the tank, you will have a short return line, but a long feed line from the rail right? plus it is much easier to make adjustments if its in the engine bay

Well, if he's running the vortech fmu on a 99, there is no return line, so he would be running a line all the way from the back up to the fmu, then all the way back to the tank. If you mount it near the stock regulator, you use two pieces of hose (one is ~6" long and the other is >2' long). Plus the fmu has no adjustability. The only option that makes any sense to me is in the back.

He is going to have to run a return line from the fuel rail either way no? I thought putting it near the fuel rail is still the best option.

Oh, for comparison, not having toyed with a Star setup, HRC requires slight relocation of the cruise control which is not too difficult.

Marietta eh? You guys really should meet up with Armond and his bunch on the south side. If you have not had a ride in his Avenger you really should. He just put in his new stage 5 cams. Having already made over 400fwhp, I am interested to see what it can do now.

You know what. I was with him. I distinctly remember your car being parked up with the sf1 front bumper as I was considering it at the time and the was the first I had seen it.You had the yellow stripes down the side as well. I used to take my car up to the starbucks as well.

No. With the star, you don't have to run a return line. I think it's better if you do, but the parts aren't supplied and it works just fine w/o it.
