#47946, "Greddy E-Manage for HP applications?"

I know only a couple 2GNTs use the e-manage and I'm looking for some info.

Is it possible to use this unit for high performance applications (20-30 psi) with all available options (support tool, all sensors and harnesses)?

Can it idle/adjust injectors over 600cc... 700cc?

Is it reliable for datalogging and controlling ignition timing?

I don't like the 8 injector setup or SAFC/Pocketlogger setup. The e-manage sounds nice but is it all it's crack up to be? Will it work for Stage 4 and 5 setups? Any info would be appreciated.

You can have it cheap, fast or good. Pick any two.

If you want it cheap and fast, it's not going to be good.

>Is it reliable for datalogging and controlling ignition
>timing?

One thing I've seen over and over about this e-manage that's disappointed me is that the timing function hasn't been proven to work. Apparently, even in the latest Turbo Magazine, they used the E-Manage to turbocharge a new 350z, and brought over a programmer from Japan who's reknowned for his expertise with this unit, and although he was able to tune the fuel with it well, he still couldn't get the timing function to work. emoji

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Jamesman is still using his MSD to do timing instead of the Emanage. The "increase injector pulsewidth" feature seems to be notsogreat either.

Road Race is trying to get us to try the AEM EMS... they've got a 3G turbo on the EMS that's really REALLY fast, and they think it'll do wonders for the 2GNT.

"he still couldn't get the timing function to work"

Was he aware that there was a misprint on the emanage documentation in regards to the wiring for the Emanage ignition harness?

I havent tried after folks on the yahoo emanage group found the misprint, but i also did not have any luck.

The pulsewidth injector control works great in my opinion...havent had a problem with it.

Also, the emanage cannot work with injectors over 50% of the stock injectors because - remember - it still leans out your injectors through the map sensor - just like the SAFC.

The article prefaced his qualifications as he being some sort of E-manage pro or expert from Japan.

I would think he could not only read the instructions, he might not even need them. And even if he did, he could read them in their original japanese form.

Hmmm... it looks very interesting. What are the computer requirements and on what OS does the software run? It seems very similar to the emanage and I'm going to need to run BIG injectors. Think it'll work?

Anyone have other ideas for me? What's Armond running? What about the high power Neon guys? I'm definetely open to suggestions and trying new products.

the smt6 needs a laptop witha windows 95/98 and or DOS which ever way u choose to go about it,

what i like is the fact that the little 300$ unit controls ignition, can clamp the map voltage, and increase fuel upon boost for 300$ WHY not?

the e manage in my mind is slightly better but lookat your price differences,

the top neon guys are runnign the autotronic stand alones, the SDS, Fast engine management, DTA from TTI, and a couple more runnign around over there

none use the e manage for their cars that ive seen...

looks like about 20people are gonna be using the smt6 with this group buy for devolpers going on,

Alright boyz heres the deal,

Group Buy For SMT6 Devolpers

If you want in on this group buy you need to be prepared for these things,

1) beable to help with setting up a written wiring diagram for the install, to make things simpler for the non electrical gurus. This would also include helping in a written manual for install.

2) beable to provide numbers and fixes help with problems that we encounter, and atleast try to promote new ideas and superior ways of install or tuning with the particular unit.

3) have a decent enough knowledge about the 420a engine and the way the ECU runs it to trouble shoot and tune the SMT6,

users will be working with neon owners and some selected stratus owners to perfect the units abilities....

the Set price will be 290$ for a copy of the wiring diagram, the Unit com cable and harness,

This Group Buy is intended to further both my knowledge and the participants knowledge, and to promote a new product for our industry with everyone coming out ahead witha better piggy back system.

The participants intended dont have to be dsm gurus but this also is not the best unit for somone who is not familar with turbo systems and especially the 420a system of management...

Bill

I would like to see 2-3 people besides me at the very least jump on this for the price at this point in time..

you need a lap top for this at all times? I'm still waiting for an update on that black box someone was talking about. Otherwise it may be the FICU or emanage or something similiar. Problem is not getting enough info.
