#44781, "Would Stock Internals + HRC Stage 2 survive a 7 hour drive?"

Whats up guys, im planning on boosting within a few months, but after all of my research, I got to thinking. Would my engine make it from the Bay Area to LA (about 400 miles or 7 hours of constant driving) without blowing? Im leaving for school in August and taking my car with me, so the kit will hopfully be on for about a month and a half. Im looking at running an HRC stage2 with FMIC, Vortech SFMU, New plugs, wires, guages,... all the necessities to boost safely on stock internals. So should i be ok? Or would it be better to turn the boost down for the drive? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Rich

I see no reason why not. To be on the safe side just turn down the boost. If you have gauges keep good reads of them. I have a similar 7 hour trip this summer so that's what I am doing. People drive thiers daily, in traffic, etc, for years some with no motor problems. So in reason, there should be no problem...Just don't race the entire way there.. emoji

if you install everything correct and dont go boosting 9psi from south to north you should be cool. its not like the turbo is killing your engine if your not boosting etc etc. so far my little beast is cool at 12psi and some spikes to 14-15psi, not to say you should try this? hehe
