>I have been hearing about the gains with higher compression >pisonts, and on Honda's, thay are better than 3%, more like >6%. On Preludes, when the compression is upped from 10:1 to >12:1. about 30hp is gained, so thats about 15HP per point, >not bad.
Big difference in a VTEC 2.2L prelude and our 2.0L
Also, nitrous is not boost, detonation is not as >big of a problem because of the cooling ability nitrous has.
Yeah, tell that to guys that blew there engines cause they had the same attitude about nitrous and see what they have to say. You HAVE to be careful using nitrous because you can easily fuck up the engine if you don't take the correct precautions.
> I would up the compression if you are staying with nitrous. > As for the shot of nitrous, on a completely rebuilt bottom >end, 225 shots with a progressive controller,
YEAH RIGHT! YOU WOULD BLOW UP THE SECOND YOU HIT IT! There is a guy here with a COMPLETELY BUILT mustang that is over 6.0L at this point and he is only running a 200 shot.
but most >people dont do a complete rebuild, if you doing only forged >pistons, rods, and gaskets,
What else is needed for a complete rebuild? That is all there really is in the bottom end to rebuild unless you are talking about a custom forged crank which isn't even available.
