Never heard of the RPM's just stopping. Give some more description. Does the car bogg? Does it just die? Does it sound like your hitting the rev limiter? What kit are you using?

Just out of curiousity. How did you mount your bottle? That's not normal. Mine kicks in full power through all gears until I let off. Or if I lean out my system shuts off.

Man you have to mount your bottle to something. The bottle has to be mounted facing the proper way as well so the pickup tube will get the nitrous in the bottle. That might be the problem right there.

Wow, a new guy from Tampa. I guess we'll have to have another meet!

As far as the problem goes, do you have any gauges to tell you the A/F and also the EGT's? If so, whats your readings, if not, GET SOME. Does it only do it on the Nitrous. If so then you may be running lean and then the ECU is pulling your timing A LOT due to the knock or it could be that you are running WAY too rich and bogging the car down.

meet? it be sweet if i could get together with other tampa dsm's..

currently i have just an autometer nitrous press gauge.. i had a/f but the first one got stolen with my pillar pod and other 2 gauges.. then i got another a/f but i sold it coz it was kinda usless.. just a dumb light that doesnt really tell me any usless info. i heard u have to get one configured for your car, is that correct?
any suggestions? as far as gauge? egt and a/f
i just got a new afc 3 days ago i tried installing it today and i could not get that damn thing to work.. after i tapped into all the wires i turned the car on and the afc would not power on. the car would idle to about 1500rpm and then it would die..
after 4 hours i said f*k it and threw it back in the box..
if you know anyone that has been succesful at this here in tpa that could help out it would be grr8...

There's the info on the SAFC install for our car. That should help you out a little bit.

As far as the A/F goes. You need a A/F gauge that reads the O2 voltage in volts, not blinking lights. You CAN get the blinky light gaguges modified to only read at wide open throttle since that is when it really matters but I personally like the digital voltage reading.

Corbin on the board used to sell some that he had made but now he has the right up available here.

http://www.2gnt.com/www/corbin/dvm2.html

Also you should have an EGT gauge so you know if you are starting to run too hot of Exhaust temps. If you get up to 1600 F you may run in to some problems. The MOST I ever saw all motor was 1475 F and I was always running rich as hell.

I honestly would hold off on tuning the car with the AFC until you have gauges and figure out the problem. I would hate to see another blown 420A in tampa, (been there done that)

sounds good about the gauges..ill look into it.

as far as those manuals go, i used wyatts and i failed twice..
i cant imagine it being defective, the afc was brand new in the box purchased from a performance shop. i guess there is a possibility but anyways..
i havent fried it because it doesnt smell and doesnt look different.

whats up with the broken link on one of the manuals? maybe someone has access to it?

safc install cannot be this difficult.
car turns on but afc doesnt do jack.. not even turn on..
car idles to 1500rpm then it bogs out..
when it does stay on, you can only feather the throttle up to 6500rpm.. if you do WOT car shuts off automatically..

ever heard of this? if so please help..

thanks.

Is it set to Pressure? (Not Karman, not Hot-Wire)

You might want to take the 4 screws out of the back of the AFC, pop the case open, and make sure the plug is seated correctly on the inside of the unit. That's the biggest problem i've found when it comes to these things not turning on after install - the installer (you) managed to wiggle the plug loose inside the unit. it's not secured very well at all, it happens to me almost any time have to do any serious work in my dash.
