>I keep hearing about the need for the Walbro 255 lps intank >pump? Is that important?
No, its not necessary, but if you dont put that pump intank, then your inline fuel pump that comes in the kit, will be pretty darn loud. A loud whining sound. I deal with it, and am used to it now, but it does get on your nerves every once in while. By adding the intank pump, it quiets the inline pump down a lot, from what i have heard.

Basically, the SFMU is a boost pressure fuel pressure regulator that raises your fuel pressure to the injectors under boost, to give the engine more fuel under boost. When you up the pressure on an injector, it sprays more fuel, which is what we want to do when we are under boost, because of all that extra air we are forcing into the engine. The HRC kit will come with a Cartach fuel pressure regulator, but MANY have had pressure issues with it. It can fluctuate fuel pressure frequently, esp at idle. Many people, including me, have upgraded to the SFMU for superior fuel pressure management. Rock solid fuel pressures, and great adjustability, and versatility are excellent features of the SFMU. If you ever wanted to upgrade to larger fuel injectors, then the SFMU can be tailored to fit those injectors using different internal disks that are available. The fuel system really isnt that complicated, just be sure to tune your fuel pressures properly, and that they stay consistant all the time. 13.5 @108 MPH-2.2 60ft(stupid FWD!)
