#30286, "Please help with Crane ignition rev limiter setup..."

I hooked a momentary push button in between a 12v+ power source and the yellow/white wire of the Crane ignition. Is this correct? Is there anything else to wire up, because it's not working.

I have the stage one dial set to 0,3K for a 3K rev limit. Any ideas?

I was getting the same thing. I had it hooked up to a 12v and got nothing. What I ended up doing it running it off the pos battery post, to the switch, to the Crane. Worked/works fine so far. I did the same thing for the 2nd stage but I didn't intall a switch I use it as a soft limiter set at 7k. when you hit the soft limiter its not like hitting a wall like you do when you hit the factory rev limiter. (thanks Greg) emoji

try hooking it up off the battery if it doesn't work then something is wrong.

Yeah make sure you are using a higher current 12v source, might not be strong enough to trip the rev limiter.

Thanks for the responses guys. I finally figured out the problem. My 12v+ source was good; I had the rotary knobs set wrong. For the stage one rev limit, it was set at 0, 4, which is only rev limiting at 400 rpm. I now have the 1st knob set at 4K, zero for the 2nd knob. So now, when I engage the button and rev up to 4K rpm, it limits the rpm at 4K. It gives off a pretty awesome pop, pop, pop, sound.
